Pretty simple cut and paste using Audacity. I added them all together in the order I wanted, then I shaved down quiet or repetitive spots to get it in the time frame I was after. Fun!
Nice. One thing I would recommend is laying a bed behind it. One of the things Jen Ralston noted, that is totally true, is sound doesn’t blink. If there is total silence for even a split second the veil is lifted. Where is this being brewed? Your house? Classic music in background and a dog barking? A coffee shop, the bin of conversation. On the streets of NYC,etc. The sound underneath it all tells the real story 🙂 And that’s why we introduce audio week 4, because week 7 and 8 will be all about the layering.
You are totally right about that. The more I think about it, the continuous layer of sound in the background would keep the listener engaged throughout the whole thing.
Nicely done! I hope you don’t mind but I used this in a class as an example “Soundscape” to start off our Audacity Soundscape projects. I’m glad that you listed all the different clips you used, as I was able to show them how much work can go into producing a minute worth of sound
We later added a background jazz track, the sounds of doors opening and closing, and the sounds of a crowd of people talking which turned your track into a cafe experience! Thanks again
I’m happy it was useful! Thanks for letting me know!
